Job summary

MetroHealth Main Campus is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Burn Intensive Care Unit, 3 West. This 8-bed unit serves adults and children with severe burns, frostbite and related injuries, offering advanced care, sterile dressing changes and complex wound management.

Experience in critical care, ventilators, and CRRT is valued. Rotating 12-hour shifts, bi-weekly hours totaling 72, with rotating weekends and holidays. MetroHealth provides strong benefits and OPERS retirement.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program and Ohio RN licensure.
• Current BLS for Healthcare Providers; ACLS and PALS certifications preferred or within required timeframe.
• PRN requires 1 year RN experience in critical care or acute settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for adult and pediatric burn patients in ICU.
• Manage hemodynamic stability, drains, ventilation and CRRT as needed.
• Collaborate with surgeons, therapists and nursing staff to deliver evidence-based care.
• Adhere to infection prevention and sterile technique standards.

Bi-weekly Hours: 72.00

Shift: 7a-7p/7p-7a; Rotating weekends, Rotating holidays

Primary Patient Population:

• Adult and Pediatric
• Severe Burns
• Frostbite
• Necrotizing Tissue Disease

Primary skills utilized/learned:

• Care for hemodynamic instabilities
• Sterile dressing changes/Infection Prevention
• Complex Wound Care
• Managing surgical drains, mechanical ventilators, & CRRT

Personnel RN will work with:

• Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Nurse Interns, Trauma/Burn Surgeons, Respiratory Therapy, Child Life Specialists

Number of beds on unit:

• 8 inpatient beds
• Outpatient Clinic

Awards or Recognitions the unit has received:

• Verified Adult and Pediatric Burn Center ( 1 of 2 in Ohio)

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (or a program seeking accreditation).
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio
• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Current ACLS and PALS certification or obtained within 6 months of hire
• PRN requires 1 year of relevant RN experience
• PRN must possess all required certifications upon hire

• BSN
• Professional Certification recognized by the Magnet Association
