Job summary

MetroHealth Main Campus- Glick Burn ICU (3 West) seeks a dedicated RN to care for adult and pediatric burn patients, including severe burns, frostbite, and necrotizing tissue disease. The unit has 8 inpatient beds and collaborates with trauma surgeons, respiratory therapy, and other specialists.

Shifts are 7a-7p or 7p-7a with rotating weekends and holidays; PRN requires 1 year of RN experience; required certifications include BLS, ACLS, and PALS (or obtained within specified times).

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in Ohio.
• BLS certification required; ACLS/PALS certs current or obtained within 6 months of hire.

Shift: 7a-7p/7p-7a; Rotating weekends, Rotating holidays

Primary Patient Population:

• Adult and Pediatric
• Severe Burns
• Frostbite
• Necrotizing Tissue Disease

Primary skills utilized/learned:

• Care for hemodynamic instabilities
• Sterile dressing changes/Infection Prevention
• Complex Wound Care
• Managing surgical drains, mechanical ventilators, & CRRT

Personnel RN will work with:

• Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Nurse Interns, Trauma/Burn Surgeons, Respiratory Therapy, Child Life Specialists

Number of beds on unit:

• 8 inpatient beds
• Outpatient Clinic

Awards or Recognitions the unit has received:

• Verified Adult and Pediatric Burn Center ( 1 of 2 in Ohio)

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (or a program seeking accreditation).
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio
• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Current ACLS and PALS certification or obtained within 6 months of hire
• PRN requires 1 year of relevant RN experience
• PRN must possess all required certifications upon hire

• Professional Certification recognized by the Magnet Association
