Job summary

MetroHealth Main Campus- Glick Burn ICU (3 West) is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to care for adult and pediatric burn patients in a high-acuity environment.

You will monitor hemodynamics, perform sterile dressings, manage drains, ventilators and CRRT, and collaborate with trauma surgeons, respiratory therapists, and support staff to promote optimal outcomes.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio.
• Current BLS for the healthcare provider certification.
• ACLS and PALS certification or obtained within 6 months of hire.
• PRN requires 1 year of relevant RN experience.
• PRN must possess all required certifications upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in the Burn ICU for adults and pediatrics.
• Monitor hemodynamics and wound status, adjust care plans.
• Perform sterile dressing changes and infection prevention protocols.
• Collaborate with Trauma/Burn Surgeons and Respiratory Therapy.

Bi-weekly Hours: 72.00

Shift: 7a-7p/7p-7a; Rotating weekends, Rotating holidays

Primary Patient Population:

• Adult and Pediatric
• Severe Burns
• Frostbite
• Necrotizing Tissue Disease

Primary skills utilized/learned:

• Care for hemodynamic instabilities
• Sterile dressing changes/Infection Prevention
• Complex Wound Care
• Managing surgical drains, mechanical ventilators, & CRRT

Personnel RN will work with:

• Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Nurse Interns, Trauma/Burn Surgeons, Respiratory Therapy, Child Life Specialists

Number of beds on unit:

• 8 inpatient beds
• Outpatient Clinic

Awards or Recognitions the unit has received:

• Verified Adult and Pediatric Burn Center ( 1 of 2 in Ohio)

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (or a program seeking accreditation).
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio
• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Current ACLS and PALS certification or obtained within 6 months of hire
• PRN requires 1 year of relevant RN experience
• PRN must possess all required certifications upon hire

• BSN
• Professional Certification recognized by the Magnet Association
