Job summary

MetroHealth Burn Intensive Care Unit at the Main Campus (Glick) seeks a registered nurse to support adult and pediatric burn patients in a high-acuity setting. The unit features 8 inpatient beds and specialized care including sterile dressing changes and complex wound management.

You will collaborate with PCNAs, trauma surgeons, respiratory therapists, and other specialists to deliver comprehensive care across rotating 12-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program and eligible for Ohio RN licensure.
• Current Ohio RN licensure.
• BLS Healthcare Provider certification; ACLS & PALS current or within 6 months.
• PRN requires 1 year of relevant RN experience.
• PRN must possess all required certifications upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Care for patients with hemodynamic instabilities.
• Sterile dressing changes and infection prevention.
• Complex wound care management.
• Managing surgical drains, mechanical ventilators, and CRRT.

Shift: 7a-7p/7p-7a; Rotating weekends, Rotating holidays

Primary Patient Population:

• Adult and Pediatric
• Severe Burns
• Frostbite
• Necrotizing Tissue Disease

Primary skills utilized/learned:

• Care for hemodynamic instabilities
• Sterile dressing changes/Infection Prevention
• Complex Wound Care
• Managing surgical drains, mechanical ventilators, & CRRT

Personnel RN will work with:

• Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Nurse Interns, Trauma/Burn Surgeons, Respiratory Therapy, Child Life Specialists

Number of beds on unit:

• 8 inpatient beds
• Outpatient Clinic

Awards or Recognitions the unit has received:

• Verified Adult and Pediatric Burn Center ( 1 of 2 in Ohio)

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (or a program seeking accreditation).
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio
• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Current ACLS and PALS certification or obtained within 6 months of hire
• PRN requires 1 year of relevant RN experience
• PRN must possess all required certifications upon hire

Preferred Qualifications :

• BSN
• Professional Certification recognized by the Magnet Association
