Job summary

MetroHealth is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Burn Intensive Care Unit, 3 West, at the Main Campus. You will provide high-acuity patient care to adults and pediatrics, including wound management, ventilator support, and complex drain care, in a collaborative trauma/Burn team.

Required Ohio RN license, BLS, ACLS/PALS within 6 months, and PRN experience; BSN preferred. The unit offers tuition reimbursement, certification incentives, and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Current Ohio RN licensure.
• BLS for healthcare providers.
• ACLS and PALS within 6 months of hire.
• PRN requires 1 year of RN experience.
• Certifications must be obtained by hire.

Responsibilities

• Care for adult and pediatric burn patients in a high-acuity ICU setting.
• Perform sterile dressing changes and infection prevention practices.
• Manage surgical drains, mechanical ventilators, and CRRT as needed.
• Collaborate with PCNAs, trauma/burn surgeons, and allied health staff.

Bi-weekly Hours: 72.00

Shift: 7a-7p/7p-7a; Rotating weekends, Rotating holidays

Primary Patient Population:

• Adult and Pediatric
• Severe Burns
• Frostbite
• Necrotizing Tissue Disease

Primary skills utilized/learned:

• Care for hemodynamic instabilities
• Sterile dressing changes/Infection Prevention
• Complex Wound Care
• Managing surgical drains, mechanical ventilators, & CRRT

Personnel RN will work with:

• Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Nurse Interns, Trauma/Burn Surgeons, Respiratory Therapy, Child Life Specialists

Number of beds on unit:

• 8 inpatient beds
• Outpatient Clinic

Awards or Recognitions the unit has received:

• Verified Adult and Pediatric Burn Center ( 1 of 2 in Ohio)

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (or a program seeking accreditation).
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio
• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Current ACLS and PALS certification or obtained within 6 months of hire
• PRN requires 1 year of relevant RN experience
• PRN must possess all required certifications upon hire

• Professional Certification recognized by the Magnet Association
