Job summary

FutureCare is seeking an RN Assessment Coordinator/MDS to lead the development and accurate completion of MDS entries in accordance with federal/state regulations. You will work with the interdisciplinary team to schedule and finalize MDS assessments, ensuring data quality and timely submissions.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in MDS coordination, ICD-10 coding experience, and strong PDPM/CMI knowledge with a collaborative, teaching mindset.

Qualifications

• Active RN license to practice (Maryland or Compact State).
• 3+ years’ experience as an MDS RN Assessment Coordinator including ICD-10 coding.
• Progressive nursing experience in resident assessment settings.
• Managerial and interpersonal skills for IDT collaboration.
• Proficiency with PDPM and CMI related to Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate development and accurate completion of the MDS per current processes and regulations.
• Collaborate with the Interdisciplinary Team to ensure timely MDS scheduling and completion.
• Partner with IDT to evaluate Quality Measures.
• Review completed MDS for accuracy and coding consistency prior to locking.

Salary Disclosure Statement

• Salary Range $87,000- $102,000 Full Time Annual***

Responsibilities

What you will do:

• Oversee and coordinate the development and accurate completion of the MDS in accordance with current RAI processes, Federal and state regulations.
• Collaborate with the Interdisciplinary Team and monitor clinical documentation to provide accurate and timely MDS scheduling and completion.
• Partner with IDT to evaluate Quality Measures.
• Review completed MDS assessments for accuracy, to include utilizing MDS software to review any coding inconsistencies and opportunities, prior to locking MDS assessments.

Qualifications

We are looking for detail-oriented nurses who are team players, with:

• Active RN licensure to work in Maryland (Maryland or Compact State).
• 3+ years’ experience as an MDS-Registered Nurse Assessment Coordinator to include ICD-10 coding experience.
• Progressive nursing experience preferably in a resident assessment environment.
• Must possess managerial and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient understanding of PDPM and clinical documentation requirements.
• Ability to build positive relationships and work cooperatively with an interdisciplinary team.
• A willingness to both learn and teach, with adaptability to make changes when needed.
• In-depth experience and knowledge with PDPM and CMI as related to Medicare and Medicaid service reimbursements.
