MEDIKO in Farmville, VA seeks a compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to provide direct patient care at Piedmont Regional Jail. You will perform health assessments, administer meds, respond to emergencies, and support safe, high-quality healthcare for underserved populations.

Requires Virginia RN license, CPR/BLS, and 1–3 years of nursing experience; corrections or acute care experience preferred. On-site, full-time role with competitive pay and generous benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience in corrections, behavioral health, or emergency settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake screenings, health assessments, and ongoing patient evaluations
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized patient care plans
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed
• Provide care for acute and chronic conditions and behavioral health needs
• Respond to sick calls and medical emergencies
• Document patient assessments and treatments in the EMR

Registered Nurse (RN) | Farmville, VA

MEDIKO is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to provide direct patient care at Piedmont Regional Jail. This role is responsible for conducting health assessments, administering medications and treatments, responding to medical emergencies, and supporting the delivery of safe, high-quality healthcare services. The ideal candidate is a clinically skilled nursing professional who thrives in a structured environment and is committed to improving the health and well-being of underserved populations.

Qualifications

• Current, active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia (or compact state)
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
• 1-3 years of nursing experience preferred
• Experience in correctional healthcare, behavioral health, emergency services, hospital, long-term care, or other clinical settings preferred
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, documentation, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
• Current CPR/BLS certification required (American Heart Association or American Red Cross approved)

• Support quality improvement initiatives and maintain a safe, organized healthcare environment
• Assist in mentoring and guiding nursing staff while promoting best clinical practices
