This role conducts health assessments, administers medications, responds to emergencies, and supports delivering high-quality healthcare to underserved populations. The ideal candidate holds an active VA RN license (or compact state), with 1–3 years of nursing experience and a background in correctional healthcare or related settings.

Qualifications

• Licensed RN in VA or compact state (active & unrestricted).
• 1-3 years nursing experience preferred.
• Experience in correctional healthcare or related settings preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, documentation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake screenings, health assessments, and ongoing patient evaluations.
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized patient care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Provide care and monitoring for patients with acute illnesses, chronic conditions, and behavioral health needs.
• Document patient assessments, treatments, and outcomes in EMR.
• Collaborate with physicians, mental health professionals, and facility staff to coordinate patient care.

This role is responsible for conducting health assessments, administering medications and treatments, responding to medical emergencies, and supporting the delivery of safe, high-quality healthcare services.
