Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Associate’s Degree in Nursing is required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is preferred.
• Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State and/or Connecticut is required.
• BLS certification is required; additional certifications as needed may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assesses and documents patient health status using the nursing process.
• Coordinates care with physicians and health team members; directs/delegates activities.
• Delivers age-appropriate plan of care and prioritizes patient needs.
• Administers medications safely and accurately.
• Educates patients and families; participates in discharge planning and referrals.
• Evaluates care and documents outcomes for quality improvement.
• Collaborates with care team to implement treatment regimens.
• Ensures safety and adherence to policy during care.
• Provides leadership and clinical judgment on unit operations.
• Maintains accurate records of care activities and patient responses.
• Performs related duties as required.
