Job summary

University of Southern California (USC) is seeking a Registered Nurse to support the Chief Nursing Officer in leading the patient care team at USC Verdugo Hills Hospital. The role focuses on patient safety, recovery, comfort, and education within regulatory and hospital standards in a demanding acute care environment.

Responsibilities include planning shifts, teaching nursing students, precepting new hires, delegating tasks, and coordinating care with interdisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• 1 year clinical experience in acute care preferred.
• California RN license required or eligible.
• Cardiac Cath Lab/IR experience preferred for certain units.
• Certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP) must be active.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care within scope of practice according to nursing standards.
• Lead and support the patient care team and coordinate with departments.
• Develop and implement plans of care and education plans for patients.
• Participate in quality improvement and department growth initiatives.
• Precept and validate competency of new hires and students.
