Job summary

Keck Medicine of USC, at USC Verdugo Hills Hospital, seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to support the Chief Nursing Officer and lead the patient care team in safety, recovery and comfort during the hospital stay.

Qualifications

• California RN license required.
• BSN preferred; if not hired, will obtain within 5 years preferred.
• 1 year clinical experience in an acute care setting preferred.
• Cardiac Cath Lab nurses: 1 year ICU/ER and 1 year IR/EP or Cath Lab experience preferred.
• Two years’ experience with Orthopedic and Medical-Surgical nursing preferred; certifications in Medical-Surgical, Orthopedic or other specialty preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist charge nurse with planning delivery of patient care for the shift.
• Precepting and competency validating new hires and procedures.
• Teaching nursing students.
• Delegating to RNs, LVNs and CNAs as needed.
• Coordinating assigned team and communicating expectations.
