Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a registered nurse to provide competent care on the Acute Cardiac/Stroke Unit in Virginia. You will perform the full nursing process, including assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation, while prioritizing patient safety and education.

Requirements include an accredited RN degree, BLS, ACLS within a year, NIH within a year, and preferred BSN/MSN. New grads are welcome, with stroke/telemetry experience valued.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma from an accredited Registered Nursing Program.
• BLS within 90 days of hire.
• Critical Care/IMCU ACLS within 1 year of hire.
• NIH within 1 year of hire.
• Acute care nursing experience preferred.
• Background in Stroke or Telemetry preferred.
• New Grad RNs welcome.
• BSN or MSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide competent nursing care using the nursing process.
• Perform assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching, health promotion, and evaluation.
• Apply professional performance standards including ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice, quality, resource utilization, and environmental health.
• Use clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards for the Acute Cardiac/Stroke Unit.
• Care for patients with heart failure, cardiac rhythm disturbances, pacemakers and defibrillators, post-coronary interventions, post-ablation care, myocardial infarctions, catheterization needs, and acute stroke.
• Participate in the six-month RN Transition to Practice Program when applicable.
