Qualifications

Degree or Diploma from an accredited Registered Nursing Program.
BLS within 90 days of hire.
ACLS within 1 year of hire.
NIH within 1 year of hire.
Acute care nursing experience preferred.
Background in Stroke or Telemetry preferred.
New Grad RNs welcome.
RN with less than 12 months experience or transitioning to a new practice area eligible for automatic enrollment in the 6-month transition-to-practice program.

Responsibilities

Provide competent nursing care using the nursing process.
Perform assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching, health promotion, and evaluation.
Apply professional nursing standards involving ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice, quality, resource utilization, and environmental health.
Use clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards for the Intermediate Care/Acute Cardiac-Stroke Unit.
Care for patients with heart failure, cardiac rhythm disturbances, pacemakers, defibrillators, post-coronary interventions, post-ablation care, myocardial infarctions, and acute stroke.
Manage pre- and post-catheterization patients.
Participate in general nursing orientation and specialty clinical track residency.
Work day shift hours from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM with rotating weekend schedule
