Qualifications

  • Degree or Diploma from an accredited Registered Nursing Program.
  • BLS within 90 days of hire.
  • ACLS within 1 year of hire.
  • NIH within 1 year of hire.
  • Acute care nursing experience preferred.
  • Background in Stroke or Telemetry preferred.
  • New Grad RNs welcome.
  • RN with less than 12 months experience or transitioning to a new practice area eligible for automatic enrollment in the 6-month transition-to-practice program.

Responsibilities

  • Provide competent nursing care using the nursing process.
  • Perform assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching, health promotion, and evaluation.
  • Apply professional nursing standards involving ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice, quality, resource utilization, and environmental health.
  • Use clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards for the Intermediate Care/Acute Cardiac-Stroke Unit.
  • Care for patients with heart failure, cardiac rhythm disturbances, pacemakers, defibrillators, post-coronary interventions, post-ablation care, myocardial infarctions, and acute stroke.
  • Manage pre- and post-catheterization patients.
  • Participate in general nursing orientation and specialty clinical track residency.
  • Work day shift hours from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM with rotating weekend schedule
