Job summary

Jobtailor in Freeport, IL is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive patient care in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams in ambulatory settings.

You will apply the nursing process, administer medications, document thoroughly, and participate in performance improvement and staff education. ADN required; BSN preferred; Illinois RN license; CPR/BLS within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• ADN required upon hire; BSN preferred.
• Licensed as an RN in state of practice.
• CPR or BLS certification required within 90 days.
• Other unit requirements certifications (ACLS, PALS, PEARS, NRP) per department.
• May require specific years of applicable experience per department guidelines.
• May include color blind test per department guidelines.
• Ability to supervise, train, and delegate.
• Illinois: 10 hours of continued education for IL licensure.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process and critical thinking in collaboration with interdisciplinary team members.
• Perform assessments, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to approved nursing techniques, policies, procedures, standards of care, and state laws.
• Ensure accurate and comprehensive documentation.
• Develop, initiate, and execute individualized patient plans of care.
• Teach and support patient and family education.
• Participate in department or unit performance improvement activities, including shared governance.
• Provide clinical expertise and guidance to other units and departments.
• Resolve systems breakdowns and engage others in solutions.
• Manage complex situations and delegate appropriately.
• Escalate issues through the appropriate chain of command.
• Support professional and organizational environments and shared governance.
• Engage in personal development and continuous learning and growth.
• Develop or revise evidence-based practice guidelines.
• Participate in peer review and peer feedback opportunities.
• Participate in the professional nursing continuum.
• Maintain timely patient flow in clinic and ambulatory settings.
