Job summary

MetroHealth's 3 East Medicine Team is seeking an experienced RN to care for inpatients on a busy medical unit in Northeast Ohio. Prepare and monitor patients with complex conditions, and coordinate care across a multidisciplinary team.

You will work 3 East on a 7a-7p or 7p-7a rotating schedule with weekends and holidays. Ohio RN licensure and BLS are required; BSN preferred, with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current RN licensure in Ohio.
• Current AHA BLS for the healthcare provider or within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient medical nursing care and close patient monitoring.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care needs.
• Coordinate care with LPNs, PCNAs, providers and the care team.
• Administer IV therapy and medications per protocol.

Primary Patient Population:

• Inpatient Medicine

Primary skills utilized/learned:

• Clinical Assessment & Critical Thinking

• Care of Common Medical Conditions (Diabetes, Heart Failure, COPD & asthma exacerbation, pneumonia, kidney disease, electrolyte imbalances, GI disorders, Hypertension, Infectious disease, Liver Disease).
• IV Therapy & Procedures

RN will work with:

• LPNs, Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Nurse Interns, Providers, PT/OT

Number of beds on unit:

• 26 (Unit shares space with the oncology team)
• 14 Medicine Beds
• 12 Oncology Beds

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (or a program seeking accreditation).
