Job summary

MetroHealth is seeking a highly qualified Registered Nurse for the 3 East Medicine Team in Northeast Ohio. The role focuses on inpatient medicine care, with responsibilities in assessment, medication management, IV therapy, and patient monitoring.

The unit has 26 beds plus 14 medicine beds and 12 oncology beds. The RN works a rotating schedule with 7a-7p and 7p-7a shifts, weekends and holidays, and a sign-on bonus up to $10,000 for qualifying experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program and eligible for Ohio RN licensure.
• Current Ohio RN license and BLS certification.
• BLS for healthcare provider or obtained within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Clinical assessment and critical thinking for inpatient medicine patients.
• Medication management and administration.
• Care for common medical conditions including diabetes, heart failure, COPD, and pneumonia.
• IV therapy and related procedures.
• Patient monitoring and timely documentation.
• Care coordination with nurses, providers, and therapy teams.
• Effective time management and professional communication.

• Inpatient Medicine

RN will work with:

• LPNs, Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Nurse Interns, Providers, PT/OT

• 26 (Unit shares space with the oncology team)
• 14 Medicine Beds
• 12 Oncology Beds

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (or a program seeking accreditation).
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio
• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
