Job summary

New York Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Urology department in Riverhead/Port Jefferson Station. You will supervise patient care, monitor vitals, and assist physicians during exams and procedures.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Create individualized care plans for patients under supervision.
• Monitor and chart vital signs, weight, and height.
• Collaborate with a healthcare team to share knowledge.
• Assist physician with exams and urologic procedures.
• Sterilize surgical instruments and prepare injections.
• Provide discharge instructions and family education.
• Record patient progress and responses to treatment.
• Complete MAR after treatment.

Job Description: Registered Nurse - Urology

Location: Riverhead / Port Jefferson Station

Hours/Days: 5 8.5 hour shifts Mon-Fri 7am-6pm

In this role, you will:

• Create individualized care plans for patients under your supervision and care.
• Monitor and chart vital signs, weight, and height.
• Collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals to share expertise and knowledge
• Assist physician with exams and/or urologic procedures
• Sterilize surgical instruments
• Prepare and administer injections
• Provide supportive resources to the patient and the families to promote a positive outlook.
• Teach patients and the families regarding treatment expectations.
• Watch and record the patient’s progress on a constant basis
• Chart the patient’s response to treatment and medication.
• Complete MAR after treatment.
• Provide the patient with discharge instructions that are specific to the patient as well as emergency numbers after care.

We require:

• Valid New York State RN License
• Excellent assessment, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with an EMR (preferred)
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on a computer, standing, bending and reaching Frequent exposure to chemicals, bloodborne pathogens, and patient bodily fluids.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
• Reliable transportation to travel to NYH locations for patient care needs

Salary: Starting at $48 Based on Location per hour based on experience
