Job summary

New York Health (NYH) in Manhattan, NY, is hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for Urology. Mon-Fri shifts from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, with comprehensive benefits starting Day 1. The role requires NYS LPN licensure, BLS, IV competency, EMR experience, and reliable transportation to NYH locations.

You will update EMR, assist physicians, manage inventory, perform injections, phlebotomy, EKGs, and patient education. Join a team dedicated to high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Current NYS LPN license required.
• BLS certification required.

• Reliable transportation to NYH locations for patient care.

Responsibilities

• Update and maintain the EMR with up-to-date vital signs, patient demographics, medication reconciliation, allergies and medical diagnoses.
• Manage Physician inbox messages and prioritize tasks via the EMR.
• Assist in maintaining the medical inventory; place orders for new materials and stock rooms.
• Clean and prepare examination rooms prior to patient appointments.
• Escort patients to exam rooms.
• Provide patient education on medications, disease management, home care, and special diets.
• Assist physician with exams and procedures.
• Prepare and administer injections.
• Phlebotomy and collection of other lab specimens.
• Perform point-of-care lab testing.
• Perform EKGs.
• Administer and document medications under physician order and follow five rights to reduce errors.
• Be cross-trained in infusion & intake.

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Urology

Location: Manhattan, NY

Hours/Days: 5/8.5 hour shifts, Mon-Fri between 8:00am-6:00pm

In This Role, You Will:

• Update and maintain the electronic medical record with up to date vital signs, patient demographics, medication reconciliation, allergies and medical diagnoses.
• Manage Physician inbox messages and prioritize tasks assigned via the electronic medical record.
• Assist in maintaining the medical inventory; place orders for new materials and stock rooms to ensure adequate supplies for physician staff.
• Clean and prepare examination rooms prior to patient appointments.
• Escort patients to exam rooms.
• Provide patient education concerning medications, management of diseases, home treatments, and special diets.
• Assist physician with exams and/or procedures.
• Prepare and administer Injections.
• Phlebotomy and collection of other lab specimens.
• Perform point of care lab testing.
• Perform EKGs.
• Administer and document medication under a physician’s order and follows the five (5) medication rights and reduce the potential for medical error.
• Be cross‑trained in infusion & intake.

We Require:

• Current NYS LPN license required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• IV Competency required.
• Consistent professional conduct and meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills with patients, staff, and other health care professionals.
• Experience with EMR’s.
• Reliable transportation to any of NYH locations for patient care needs.
