Job summary

New York Health (NYH) is seeking a Registered Nurse for Urology as a float, providing care across multiple NYH locations including Hewlett, Richmond Hill, Forest Hills and Massapequa. You will work M-F, 7:30am-5pm, creating care plans, monitoring patients, and supporting physicians with exams and procedures.

You will document vitals, chart progress, and educate patients and families about treatment expectations while ensuring safety and quality care.

Qualifications

• Valid New York State RN License.
• Excellent assessment, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with an EMR (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Create individualized care plans for patients under your supervision and care.
• Monitor and chart vital signs, weight, and height.
• Collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals to share expertise and knowledge.
• Assist physician with exams and/or urologic procedures.
• Sterilize surgical instruments.
• Prepare and administer injections.
• Provide supportive resources to the patient and the families to promote a positive outlook.
• Teach patients and the families regarding treatment expectations.
• Watch and record the patient’s progress on a constant basis.
• Chart the patient’s response to treatment and medication.
• Complete MAR after treatment.
• Provide the patient with discharge instructions that are specific to the patient as well as emergency numbers after care.

Location: Hewlett, Richmond Hill, Forest Hills, Massapequa

Hours/Days: 5/ 8.5 hours shifts M-F 7:30am - 5pm

We Require

• Valid New York State RN License
• Excellent assessment, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with an EMR (preferred)
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on a computer, standing, bending and reaching
• Frequent exposure to chemicals, bloodborne pathogens, and patient bodily fluids.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
• Reliable transportation to travel to NYH locations for patient care needs
• Bilingual English/Spanish Preferred
