Job summary

Paycom - ATS is seeking an RN Charge Nurse in Texas to oversee resident care and ensure adherence to individualized plans. The role requires active RN licensure in Texas and experience in a skilled nursing setting.

You will conduct rounds, administer medications, and coordinate with physicians to document changes in resident condition. Strong communication and leadership of aides are essential for safe, quality care.

Qualifications

• Has completed an RN program at an accredited school.
• Must be an active RN in Texas in good standing.
• Experience in a skilled nursing facility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Observe, assess, document, and report resident condition during rounds.
• Ensure care plans are implemented as directed.
• Administer medications as prescribed.
• Conduct rounds with physician and record visits.
• Perform narcotic reconciliation with shifts.
• Identify changes in resident condition and act per facility policies.
• Oversee and monitor aides.
• Discharge residents per facility policy.
• Complete Nursing Assessments before physician calls.
• Communicate status updates to resident's contact.
• Handle incident and accident reports.

The RN Charge Nurse will assist in ensuring the provision of quality care that promotes the highest practicable physical, mental and psychological well-being of each resident as determined by resident assessments and individual plans of care.Essential FunctionsDuring rounds observes, assess, documents, and reports resident condition/changesAssures implementation of care plans as directedAdministers medications as prescribedConduct rounds with physician and record visits in clinical recordsPerform narcotic reconciliation with incoming and outgoing shiftsIdentify significant changes in the condition of residents and takes necessary action per facility policies and proceduresOversees and monitors aidesInitiate and complete Incident and Accident Reports per facility policyDischarge residents per facility policyMust complete Nursing Assessment for Physician Calls prior to calling physician on any change in resident conditionCommunicate with resident’s point of contact when they ask for a status update or if there is a change in conditionOther special projects or functions can be assigned at times by the Director of Nurses and/or the AdministratorEducational/Training RequirementsHas completed a RN program at an accredited vocational school, college, or universityLicensing RequirementsMust be an active Registered Nurse in the state of Texas in good standingExperience RequirementsExperience working in a skilled nursing facility is preferred.
