Job summary

Paycom - ATS in Texas seeks an experienced RN Charge Nurse to support high-quality resident care in a skilled nursing facility. You will participate in rounds, assess changes, document, and report, ensuring alignment with care plans and physician orders.

You will administer medications, coordinate with physicians, discharge residents per policy, and oversee aides. Texas RN license is required; SNF experience is preferred, with emphasis on timely communication and incident reporting.

Qualifications

• Has completed an RN program at an accredited school.
• Active Texas RN license in good standing required.
• Experience in a skilled nursing facility preferred.

Responsibilities

• During rounds observes, assesses, documents, and reports resident condition/changes.
• Ensures implementation of care plans and administers medications as prescribed.
• Administers narcotics reconciliation with shifts and coordinates with physician visits.
• Discharges residents per facility policy and conducts nursing assessments prior to physician calls.
• Communicates with residents' contacts about status changes and events.
• Oversees and monitors nursing aides and volunteers for quality care.

The RN Charge Nurse will assist in ensuring the provision of quality care that promotes the highest practicable physical, mental and psychological well-being of each resident as determined by resident assessments and individual plans of care.Essential FunctionsDuring rounds observes, assess, documents, and reports resident condition/changesAssures implementation of care plans as directedAdministers medications as prescribedConduct rounds with physician and record visits in clinical recordsPerform narcotic reconciliation with incoming and outgoing shiftsIdentify significant changes in the condition of residents and takes necessary action per facility policies and proceduresOversees and monitors aidesInitiate and complete Incident and Accident Reports per facility policyDischarge residents per facility policyMust complete Nursing Assessment for Physician Calls prior to calling physician on any change in resident conditionCommunicate with resident’s point of contact when they ask for a status update or if there is a change in conditionOther special projects or functions can be assigned at times by the Director of Nurses and/or the AdministratorEducational/Training RequirementsHas completed a RN program at an accredited vocational school, college, or universityLicensing RequirementsMust be an active Registered Nurse in the state of Texas in good standingExperience RequirementsExperience working in a skilled nursing facility is preferred.
