Job summary

BrightStar Care is seeking an Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver skilled infusion therapy in patients’ homes, building meaningful relationships and ensuring independence and quality of life. You will provide 1:1 care, administer IV therapies, and document care per the plan.

The role requires a current Wisconsin RN license, graduation from an accredited nursing program, and preferably a BSN. Prior infusion/home-care experience is preferred and you will work under BrightStar Care policies

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted Wisconsin RN license.
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Previous infusion therapy experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 care in the patient’s home.
• Implement treatment and plan of care using sound judgment and critical thinking.
• Maintain accurate, detailed, and timely documentation consistent with the care plan and nursing processes.
• Perform all skills, treatments, and procedures to the scope of practice defined in the Nurse Practice Act in the state of clinical practice and adhere to the company policy, procedures, and protocols.

Skills & Qualifications

• JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide compassionate, one-to-one skilled nursing care in the patient’s home, specializing in infusion therapy.
  • Administer prescribed IV medications and treatments according to the patient’s plan of care and physician orders.
  • Assess patients before, during, and after infusions and monitor for changes in condition or adverse reactions.
  • Perform IV starts, vascular access care, and other infusion-related skills within scope of practice and competency.
  • Educate patients and caregivers regarding infusion therapy and the plan of care.
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation and communicate patient needs with the care team.
  • Follow the Nurse Practice Act, BrightStar Care policies, procedures, and safety standards.
• EDUCATION & LICENSURE
  • Required: Current, unrestricted Wisconsin RN license.
  • Required: Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
  • Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• EXPERIENCE
  • Preferred: Previous experience providing infusion therapy in a home care or clinical setting.
  • Preferred: Experience with IV starts, vascular access, and administration of IV medications and treatments.
• PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be able to stand, walk, squat, bend, kneel, reach, twist, push, and pull.
  • Must be able to assist patients with varying levels of mobility and physical needs.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must have adequate visual and hearing acuity to safely perform job duties.
