Job summary

Baptist Health in Lexington, KY is seeking a Registered Nurse for PACU to support Surgical Services on a full-time day shift (1100-2030). A $15,000 sign-on bonus is available for qualified individuals, with responsibilities spanning assessment, care planning, and direct patient care.

Ideal candidates hold Kentucky RN licensure and a nursing degree; BLS is required, with ACLS/PALS/NRP as needed. On-call weekends/holidays and leadership duties are included.

Qualifications

• Active Kentucky RN license or work permit.
• Bachelor’s or associate degree in nursing from an accredited college.
• ADN holders with <10 years’ experience must enroll in BSN within 12 months and finish within 5 years.
• BLS certification required; obtain within 30 days if not current.
• ACLS/PALS/NRP and dysrhythmia training as required by department.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient needs and develop care plans.
• Provide direct patient care and manage delivery of care.
• Demonstrate leadership and support quality care.
• Maintain patient relations and healing environment.
• On-call weekends/holidays rotated.
• Assist OR nurses before, during, after surgery.
• Apply four nursing processes with critical thinking.
• Supervise and delegate to PCTs, LPNs, unit secretaries, and students.

• Operating Room Nurses provide care and support to patients before, during and after surgery.
• Clinical decision-making incorporates all four phases of the nursing process, critical thinking and creativity.
• Must possess ability to supervise and delegate appropriate work to Patient Care Techs, Licensed Practical Nurses, Unit Secretaries, and Students.

Requirements:

• Current RN licensure and work permit in Kentucky.
• Bachelor's or an associate degree in nursing from an accredited college/university.
• Applicants with an associate degree in nursing and less than 10 years of experience must enroll within 12 months of hire in a bachelor's degree program and must have achieved the degree within 5 years.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. If not already certified, must obtain BLS within 30 days of their hire date.
• ACLS/PALS/NRP and successful completion of dysrhythmia class as required by department of assignment.
