Job summary

Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for the PACU to provide direct and indirect patient care in the Recovery/Post-Anesthesia Care Unit. The role follows the nursing process and emphasizes communication with the healthcare team and with patients and families.

The position requires an Associate's Degree in Nursing (Bachelor's preferred), current Kentucky RN license or multistate license, and BLS with ACLS/PALS within 1 year.

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Current RN license in Kentucky or a current multistate license. BLS required; ACLS and PALS within 1 year of hire.

  • Reports to the Director of Surgery.

Registered Nurse (RN) PACU

Bonus: $15,000 two-year commitment

Schedule: 8:00-4:30 | Full Time | Monday-Friday | Call every 12 weeks for the week and night call every other week from 11p-7am

Job Summary & Essential Functions

Provides direct and indirect patient care in the Recovery/Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Meets the physical, psychosocial, and cultural needs of patients and families. Communicates effectively with all members of the healthcare team regarding changes in patient condition or response to treatment. Reports to the Director of Surgery.

Patient Populations Served

Neonate, Infant, Early Childhood, Late Childhood, Adolescent, Young Adult, Middle Adult, Older Adult.

Protected Health Information Accessed

Demographic, Clinical, Insurance, Financial, Complete Medical Record.

Exposure

Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens is present; may involve contact with patients, blood, body fluids, or specimens.

Physical Requirements

Frequent standing, walking, lifting/moving patients, and repetitive hand/arm movements. Regular exposure to biological and chemical hazards, including blood and bodily fluids, hazardous medications, and latex.

What we are looking for

Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing required (current RN licensure accepted in lieu of degree); Bachelor's Degree preferred.
