Job summary

Harlingen Medical Center is seeking a CVICU RN to join our Night shift team in Harlingen, TX. This full-time position features 12-hour shifts from 7:00pm to 7:00am, with opportunities to contribute to high-acuity cardiac care.

Responsibilities include assessing cardiac health, monitoring rhythms and vitals, administering medications, and educating patients and families. Required: valid Texas RN license, BLS/ACLS, minimum one year CVICU experience; CC RN and BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Completion of Critical Care Course preferred.
• Current ACLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Minimum of one year as a CVICU RN.
• CRRN Certification preferred.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients' cardiac health through physical examinations, reviewing medical histories, and monitoring vital signs.
• Monitor patients' cardiac rhythms and interpret ECGs to identify irregularities or distress.
• Administer medications as prescribed, including IV and oral medications and infusions.
• Provide education to patients and families about cardiac conditions, medications, lifestyle modifications, and self-care.
• Assist physicians during cardiac procedures such as nuclear stress tests.
• Respond to cardiac emergencies by initiating CPR and ACLS protocols.

Employment Type : Full-Time

Hours: 12 hour shifts – 7:00pm to 7:00am

Location: Harlingen Medical Center Harlingen,Texas

Responsibilities

• A ssess patients' cardiac health through physical examinations, reviewing medical histories, and monitoring vital signs such as blood pressure, heart rate, and oxygen saturation
• M onitor patients' cardiac rhythms and interpret electrocardiograms (ECGs) to identify irregularities or signs of distress
• A dminister medications as prescribed by physicians, including intravenous medications, oral medications, and intravenous infusions , including medications to regulate blood pressure, control arrhythmias, or manage heart failure symptoms
• P rovid e education to patients and their families about cardiac conditions, medications, lifestyle modifications, and self-care techniques to manage their condition effectively
• A s a C ardiology RN you may assist physicians during cardiac procedures such as nuclear stress test
• R espond to cardiac emergencies such as cardiac arrests or acute myocardial infarctions (heart attacks) by initiating cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) protocols

• Completion of Critical Care Course preferred.
• Current ACLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Minimum of one year as a CVICU RN.
• Critical Care RN (CCRN) Certification preferred.
