Job summary

Prime Healthcare is seeking a Part-Time ICU Registered Nurse for Harlingen Medical Center in Harlingen, TX. Shifts are 12 hours (7:00pm–7:00am), with a Nights schedule.

You will perform comprehensive assessments, develop care plans, and implement complex nursing interventions in a critical care setting. The role requires current Texas RN licensure, BLS, ACLS within 30 days of hire, and preferred CC RN or BSN.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state of Texas is required.
• BLS certification required upon hire and maintained.
• ACLS certification required within 30 days of hire and maintained.
• Critical Care Course preferred.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Minimum of one year as staff RN in acute care hospital; critical care preferred.
• CCRN certification preferred.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality care to critically ill patients by performing assessments, developing care plans, and implementing interventions.
• Use advanced equipment (cardiac monitors, ventilators, pumps, capnography) to monitor vitals and parameters.
• Safely administer medications and IV fluids with precise dosing and timing.
• Manage life-support devices such as ventilators and dialysis machines.
• Provide emotional support and education to patients’ families, acting as liaison.
• Document all aspects of patient care and maintain infection control and safety protocols.

Location: Harlingen Medical Center - Harlingen, TX

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality care to critically ill patients by performing detailed assessments, developing care plans, and implementing complex nursing interventions
• Use advanced equipment like cardiac monitors, pulse oximeters, blood pressure monitors, ventilators, infusion pumps, and capnography devices to continuously track vital signs and physiological parameters
• Safely administer medications, intravenous fluids, and blood products with precise dosing and timing, closely monitoring patient responses to ensure effectiveness and prevent adverse reactions
• Manage life-support devices such as ventilators, dialysis machines, and cardiac monitors
• Provide emotional support and education to patients' families, acting as a liaison to ensure they understand the care being provided
• Document all aspects of patient care to ensure continuity and compliance while rigorously maintaining infection control and safety protocols to protect vulnerable patients

Qualifications

1. Current and valid state RN License.2. Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.3. Completion of Critical Care Course preferred. 4. Basic Arrythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.5. Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current. 6. Minimum of one year as a staff RN in acute care hospital, critical care preferred.7. Critical Care RN (CCRN) Certification preferred. 8. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
