Harlingen Medical Center in Harlingen, Texas is seeking a Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) to monitor and interpret vital signs and cardiac rhythms in our telemetry unit.

You will provide patient-centered care, administer medications, educate patients and families, and collaborate with physicians to ensure timely responses to any changes in condition during 12-hour night shifts.

Qualifikationen

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Basic Arrhythmia interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
• Ventilator management experience preferred.
• RN-BC or similar certification; BSN preferred.

Aufgaben

• Assess patients' conditions, vital signs, and cardiac rhythms to create care plans.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs using telemetry equipment for remote monitoring.
• Communicate changes in condition to the physician, including diagnostics and symptoms.
• Administer medications as prescribed, including IV meds, and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Provide hands-on care: wound care, treatments, ADLs, and emotional support.
• Educate patients and families about conditions, meds, and self-care in Telemetry Unit.
• Respond quickly to changes in patient conditions and address concerns with the physician.
• Deliver safe patient care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation.

We are seeking a

Overview

We are seeking a Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN), sometimes referred to as a Telemetry RN or Tele RN. A Tele RN specializing in attending to patients within our telemetry units, including those needing cardiac monitoring. The Tele RN will monitor and interpret our patient's vital signs, such as heart rate, heart rhythm, respiratory rate, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation level. Continuous monitoring of patients, by the Telemetry RN enables gathering real-time data to make informed decisions regarding patient care, ensuring early detection of abnormalities or changes in the patient's condition.

Shifts Available: Nights

Hours: 12 hour – 7:00pm to 7:00am

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

• Assess patients' conditions, including vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and overall health status, to create individualized care plans
• Monitor patients' cardiac rhythms and vital signs using telemetry equipment, which allows for remote monitoring of patients' heart rates and rhythms
• Communicate with the physician about changes in the patient's clinical condition, including cardiac monitoring, results of diagnostic studies, and symptomatology
• Administer medications as prescribed by physicians, including intravenous medications, and monitor patients for any adverse reactions
• Provide hands-on care to patients, including wound care, administering treatments, assisting with activities of daily living, and providing emotional support
• Educate patients and their families about their conditions, medications, and treatments, as well as provide guidance on self-care practices and lifestyle modifications in the Telemetry Unit
• Respond quickly to changes in patient conditions throughout shift and be able to address any concerns to the physician as soon as possible
• Responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation

• Medical-Surgical Nurse-Board Certified (RN-BC) or similar certification; preferred.
