Job summary

Prime Healthcare is seeking a Registered Nurse for night shifts at Harlingen Medical Center in Harlingen, TX. This Full Time role includes a 12-hour night shift from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am with a sign-on bonus for qualified candidates.

Responsibilities include assessments, monitoring, medication administration, and collaboration with the care team to optimize patient outcomes. BSN preferred; ACLS/BLS; acute care experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• BLS certification upon hire and maintain.
• ACLS certification within 30 days of hire and maintain (preferred).
• Acute care hospital experience preferred.
• Ventilator management experience preferred.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough initial assessments and ongoing evaluations of patients.
• Monitor vital signs, intake/output, and other clinical indicators.
• Recognize and act on warning signs of deterioration.
• Safely administer prescribed medications and monitor for adverse effects.
• Liaise between patients, families, and healthcare team to ensure needs are met.
• Educate patients on condition, treatment options, and lifestyle adjustments.
• Communicate with doctors, specialists, therapists, and social workers to adjust care plans.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough initial assessments and ongoing evaluations of patients' physical, emotional, and mental health
• Monitor vital signs, intake/output, and other clinical indicators to detect changes in patient conditions
• Recognize and act on warning signs of deterioration, such as changes in heart rate, respiratory rate, or mental status
• Safely administer prescribed medications (oral, IV, subcutaneous, intramuscular) and monitor for adverse effects or allergic reactions
• Act as a liaison between patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure the patient's needs are met
• Provide patient education on their condition, treatment options, and lifestyle adjustments to support recovery and prevent readmission.
• Communicate effective with doctors, specialists, physical therapists, and social workers to develop and adjust care plans

Qualifications

1. Current and valid state RN License.2. Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.3. Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current preferred.4. Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.5. Ventilator Management experience preferred.6. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
