REGISTERED NUCLEAR MEDICINE TECHNOLOGIST

This position is posted on the internal Career Website for 5 business days. Associates are eligible for lateral transfer after one year of service, with exceptions for warnings and suspensions. Probationary periods are three months for full-time and four months for part-time employees.

Overview

The responsibilities of the nuclear medicine technologist include patient care with an empathetic approach, preparation, calibration, and administration of radiopharmaceuticals under an authorized user's direction, performing quality control procedures, and operating imaging, laboratory, and computer equipment. The role also involves overseeing patient scheduling and duty assignments in the absence of the supervisor.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform quality nuclear medicine imaging procedures to ensure optimal patient care.
• Provide proper radiopharmaceuticals and prescribed doses for examinations.
• Process images: acquire, label, process, and display images for interpretation.
• Follow all radiation safety regulations for patients and staff.
• Handle, utilize, and dispose of radioactive materials properly.

Education & Experience Requirements

• Associates degree required; Bachelor's preferred.
• Completion of an approved Nuclear Medicine program meeting ARRT or NMTCB certification requirements.
• Licensed by the State of New York.
• CT Certification (ARRT or NMTCB).
