Job summary

Mercy Health in Cincinnati is seeking a Registered Mammography Technologist to perform high-quality breast imaging procedures in accordance with ARRT, ACR, and MQSA guidelines.

You will perform screening, diagnostic, invasive breast procedures and DEXA, assist the radiologist with aseptic technique, ensure patient safety, and document histories for accurate interpretation. This role emphasizes patient education and teamwork within imaging.

Qualifications

• Certification and registration with ARRT in Diagnostic Radiology is required.
• Advanced modality registration in Mammography is preferred, or must obtain within 1 year.
• State licensure preferred, unless required by the state where the job is being performed.
• BLS Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association required at hire for certain Mercy Health locations; preferred at hire elsewhere.

Responsibilities

• Performs all breast imaging and DEXA procedures.
• Assists the radiologist in invasive breast procedures, ensuring aseptic technique and consent is obtained.
• Correlates patient's clinical history with the procedure for interpretation.
• Sets up and operates breast imaging equipment and related devices.
• Applies correct exposure factors to produce quality diagnostic images.
• Implements radiation protection principles to minimize exposure.
• Provides patient education and discharge instructions.
• Participates in the department's quality assessments and improvement plans.
