Job summary

Mercy Health’s St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital seeks a Registered Mammography Technologist to perform breast imaging procedures in accordance with ARRT, ACR, and MQSA guidelines. The role involves screening, diagnostic, invasive breast procedures, and DEXA scans under supervision.

The technologist will ensure patient safety, coordinate with radiologists, and maintain high image quality while supporting department quality initiatives. Mercy Health offers a supportive team and benefits.

Qualifications

• ARRT Certification in Diagnostic Radiology (required)
• Advanced Mammography modality (preferred or must obtain within 1 year)
• State licensure (preferred)
• BLS by AHA (required)

Responsibilities

• Performs all breast imaging and DEXA procedures.
• Assists radiologist in invasive breast procedures with aseptic technique and consent.
• Conveys patient history to licensed provider prior to examination.
• Selects and operates breast imaging equipment to achieve quality results.
• Sets exposure factors to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
• Applies radiation protection principles to minimize exposure.
• Provides patient education and discharge instructions.
• Participates in the department's quality assessments and improvement plans.
