Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Registered Mammography Technologist to perform and interpret breast imaging, including DEXA, following ARRT, ACR and MQSA guidelines. The role supports accurate imaging, patient safety and collaborative care with radiologists.

The position requires ARRT Diagnostic Radiology certification, an ARRT Mammography endorsement or eligibility, and state licensure where applicable. 1 year of mammography experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• ARD/ARRT‑based radiologic technologist credential required or in process.
• AR RT diagnostic radiology certification is mandatory.
• State licensure preferred, depending on location.
• BLS completed or in progress at hire for most Mercy Health locations.

Responsibilities

• Performs all breast imaging and DEXA procedures.
• Assists radiologist in invasive breast procedures with aseptic technique and consent.
• Correlates patient history with the procedure and documents findings.
• Selects and operates breast imaging equipment to obtain quality results.
• Sets exposure factors to produce diagnostic images of high quality.
• Applies radiation protection to minimize exposure for patient and staff.
• Provides patient education and discharge instructions.
• Participates in the department's quality assessments and improvement plans.
