Theuniversityunion in Kalamazoo, MI seeks a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist to lead clinical nutrition operations and provide Medical Nutrition Therapy across the resident care continuum.

You will develop nutrition programs, perform malnutrition screenings, document care plans, and educate residents and caregivers. You’ll also participate in quality improvements and policy updates as part of the leadership team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nutrition or related field required.
• ACEND-accredited supervised practice required.
• Pass national CDR examination required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in long-term care or healthcare settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and coordinate clinical nutrition operations.
• Provide Medical Nutrition Therapy including malnutrition screenings and assessments; document and discharge education.
• Develop nutrition and wellness activities; collaborate with nursing, pharmacy, medical, therapy and other departments.
• Lead quality improvement activities, conduct audits, update policies, participate in onboarding and budgeting.

• Base Pay $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 / Year

What you will be doing

The Registered Dietitian Nutritionist plans, schedules, and coordinates clinical nutrition operations while supporting the Nutrition Care Supervisor and Dining Services team. This role provides Medical Nutrition Therapy, including malnutrition screenings, clinical assessments, individualized interventions, follow-up care, documentation, discharge recommendations, and resident or caregiver education. The RDN also develops nutrition and wellness activities and collaborates with nursing, pharmacy, medical, therapy, and other facility departments to promote coordinated resident care.

As a member of the leadership team, the RDN helps establish clinical standards, monitor staff performance, lead quality improvement activities, conduct audits, update policies, and support interviews and onboarding. The role also provides staff education and participates in budget, food safety, infection control, cost-control, and regulatory compliance initiatives.

About you

Education

• Completed a minimum of a bachelor’s degree at a regionally accredited university or college and coursework accredited or approved by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
• Completed an ACEND-accredited supervised practice program at a healthcare facility, community agency, or a food service corporation or combined with undergraduate or graduate studies.
• Pass a national examination administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).

Experience

• Minimum 1 year of experience within long-term care or healthcare settings
