Job summary

Henry Ford Health is seeking a Registered Dietitian to work with doctors and nurses to deliver personalized nutrition care—from assessments to counseling and education programs.

You will stay current with nutrition science, lead education initiatives, and collaborate with the care team to improve patient outcomes. An RD credential is required; a Master's may be needed for certain registrations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics with ACEND-accredited DPD and supervised practice is required.
  • Master's Degree is required for candidates whose initial RD registration is after Jan 1 2024.
  • Active RD/RDN credential from CDR is required; Advanced Practice Certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough nutrition assessments and develop personalized nutrition diagnoses.
  • Create and implement nutrition care plans tailored to patient needs.
  • Deliver one-on-one counseling and nutrition education sessions.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
  • Lead nutrition education programs and seminars.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct thorough nutritional assessments and develop personalized Nutrition Diagnoses that actually make a difference
  • Create and implement dynamic nutrition care plans tailored to each patient's unique needs and goals
  • Deliver engaging one-on-one counseling and nutrition education sessions that inspire positive lifestyle changes
  • Evaluate and celebrate patient outcomes, adjusting strategies to ensure continued success
  • Collaborate enthusiastically with the healthcare team to coordinate comprehensive patient care
  • Design and lead energizing nutrition education programs and seminars on topics that matter
  • Stay current with the latest nutrition science and best practices to bring cutting-edge expertise to your role
  • Build meaningful relationships with patients, families, and colleagues through excellent communication and genuine care

Qualifications:
Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics or related field with completion of an ACEND-accredited Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) and supervised practice program (dietetic internship) is required.
  • Master's Degree is required for candidates whose initial registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) is effective on or after January 1, 2024.

Licensure/Certification:

  • Active Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential issued by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) is required.
  • Advanced Practice Certification is preferred.

Required Competencies:

  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English with demonstrated understanding of medical terminology.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions and perform arithmetic calculations accurately.
  • Advanced computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated ability to work effectively with medical, nursing, and other healthcare professionals, patients, and their families.

Experience:

  • One year of clinical experience as a Registered Dietitian in a healthcare setting is preferred.

  • Supervision received from the Clinical Dietitian Supervisor
  • Responsibilities include comprehensive care for a wide variety of medical and surgical patients, and enteral and parenteral nutrition management.
