Job summary

Ascension in Nashville is seeking a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist to lead bariatric nutrition care. You’ll assess patients before and after surgery, tailor nutrition plans, and guide ongoing dietary progression to support long-term success.

• Manage the Care Continuum: Provide comprehensive pre- and post-operative nutritional counseling focusing on diet progression, supplementation, and long-term habits while continuously monitoring patient progress to adjust individualized care plans.
• Lead Patient Education: Empower individuals by facilitating bariatric education classes, hosting support groups, and teaching mindful eating and sustainable behavior modification.
• Collaborate and Document: Partner closely with surgeons and multidisciplinary care teams while ensuring accurate, compliant medical record (EMR) documentation and accreditation compliance.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist credentialed from the Commission on Dietetic Registration obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required
