Job summary

Newberry County Memorial Hospital is seeking a skilled Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) with RVT/RDCS preferences for a weekend on-call role. The position covers Friday 7:00 pm through Monday 7:00 am, with ultrasound imaging across obstetrics, gynecology, abdominal, vascular and other areas.

You will operate ultrasound equipment, ensure patient safety and comfort, and document findings precisely while coordinating with physicians and nursing staff during on-call shifts.

Qualifications

• Must hold RDMS with RVT/RDCS preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently in a weekends-only on-call role.

Responsibilities

Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS; RVT/RDCS preferred) (Weekend Call Only)

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS/RVT/RDCS) to join our Newberry Health team in our on-call only position. On-call hours are Weekends only Friday 7:00 pm through Monday 7:00 am. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced sonographers to contribute to patient care in a dynamic medical environment, providing essential diagnostic imaging services with flexibility and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations across various specialties, including obstetrics, gynecology, abdominal, vascular, and other areas as required.
• Accurately operate ultrasound equipment to produce high-quality images for interpretation by physicians.
• Ensure patient comfort and safety during procedures, providing clear instructions and support.
• Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of procedures and findings.
• Adhere to all safety protocols, infection control standards, and regulatory guidelines.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive patient care.
• Participate in on-call duties, responding promptly to imaging requests as scheduled.

Requirements

• Proven experience in performing a wide range of ultrasound examinations.
• Strong knowledge of ultrasound physics, anatomy, and pathology.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently in a call-only, PRN capacity.
• Flexibility to respond to call requests promptly and adapt to varying schedules.
• Current CPR certification and compliance with all healthcare regulations.
• Applicant must be a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMA). Vascular experience (RVT)/CCI (RVS) strongly preferred.
