Job summary

Newberry County Memorial Hospital is seeking a skilled Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) with RVT/RDCS preferences for a weekend on-call role. The position covers Friday 7:00 pm through Monday 7:00 am, with ultrasound imaging across obstetrics, gynecology, abdominal, vascular and other areas.

You will operate ultrasound equipment, ensure patient safety and comfort, and document findings precisely while coordinating with physicians and nursing staff during on-call shifts.

Qualifications

• Must hold RDMS with RVT/RDCS preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently in a weekends-only on-call role.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations across obstetrics, gynecology, abdominal, vascular and other areas as required.
• Operate ultrasound equipment to produce high-quality images for interpretation by physicians.
• Ensure patient comfort and safety; provide clear instructions during procedures.
• Maintain detailed documentation of procedures and findings.
• Follow all safety/infection control protocols and regulatory guidelines.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals for comprehensive patient care.
• Respond promptly to imaging requests during on-call hours.
