Position Title: Registered Dental Assistant
Location: Cookeville, TN
Compensation: Negotiable + bonus potential based on production
Position Mission:
  • As a Registered Dental Assistant, you will be a key member of the team charged with the care and treatment of our patients. You will be communicating with patients, assisting the patient's comfort, educating patients, keeping on schedule, managing supplies, and complying with all regulatory guidelines. You’ll be an integral part of our team and will help be a part of providing excellent dental care to our valued patients.
KPIs / Performance Metrics:
  • Assures all patients are seated on time according to schedule.
  • Politely requests referrals to patients' family members/friends.
  • Carefully manages dental supplies (stays within budget).
  • Compliance with OSHA and HIPAA.
  • Maintain clean, organized work areas in the treatment areas, sterilization, and the lab.
  • Attends team/company meetings and contributes to mandatory/required training.
Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma (or equivalency) and some college.
  • Completion of a dental assistant school or training program.
  • 1+ years experience as a dental assistant.
  • CPR certification.
  • Radiograph/x-ray certification.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced environment.
  • Organized and detail-oriented.
  • Enjoys multi-tasking.
  • Motivated, friendly, and energetic
Job Responsibilities
  • Strict adherence to all laws, regulations, and guidance including but not limited to the following: OSHA, HIPAA, universal precautions, sharps, proper use of protective equipment, and office policies/procedures. Presents confusing or conflicting guidance to the supervisor for clarification.
  • Promotes the company's growth and success by contributing to the positive culture in accordance with the company's core values, mission, and vision.
  • Assures each operatory is cleaned and sanitized, stocked with necessary instruments and supplies, and is ready for patients before the patient is greeted and escorted to the operatory.
  • Maintains focus on the patient experience, particularly with new patients, ensuring they have a great patient experience.
  • Communicates with patients and helps make sure they are comfortable and feel like they're welcomed and appreciated.
  • Review patient history and document in the chart.
  • Assists in maintaining accurate dental charts and findings.
  • Take radiographs (x-rays) in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Prepare patients for examination and treatment.
  • Assists clinicians in providing treatment.
  • Prepare for and take alginate impressions as necessary.
  • Provides comprehensive post-operative dental instructions to patients (as directed by the clinician).
  • Efficiently work with various clinicians.
  • Assures trays are correctly set up for the scheduled procedure.
  • Assist other dental assistants, hygienists, and office staff as needed to assure smooth patient flow.
  • Prepares lab cases for the following day's schedule and assures the cases are complete and ready.
  • Assists in cleanliness, maintenance, and upkeep of instruments, equipment, and facilities.
  • Assist with dental/medical emergencies as necessary.
  • Sterilizes instruments and disinfects operatories between patients.
  • Enters dental supply orders into the order system for review/approval.
  • Addresses problems and recommend effective solutions with the work supervisor at the appropriate time and place.
  • Cross trains to assist with other job roles as needed.
  • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Always meets the standards of professional and ethical conduct.
  • Schedules patients for appointments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
