Job summary
Mercy Health – St. Charles Hospital in Ohio is seeking a Registered Cardiac Sonographer to perform diagnostic heart exams using ultrasound, including transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography and cardiac stress testing.
You will prepare and monitor patients, review information in the EHR, document findings, and contribute to on-call coverage. Requirements include an associate degree in cardiovascular technology or related field, Basic Life Support, and credentialing in echocardiography
Qualifications
- Associates degree in an applied health science field with concentration in cardiovascular technology or ultrasonography (preferred).
- BLS Basic Life Support certification required.
- Credentialed in echocardiography by RDCS or RCS (ARDMS/CCI).
Responsibilities
- Performs diagnostic echocardiography examinations using ultrasound equipment to evaluate the heart.
- Proficient in non-invasive and invasive cardiac exams.
- Demonstrates knowledge of cardiac anatomy, exam procedures, and interpretation of results.
- Prepares and monitors patients before and during procedures.
- Utilizes the hospital EHR to review patient information and document findings.
- On-call hours required.
