Job summary

Mercy Health in St. Charles Hospital is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer Registered to perform diagnostic, non-invasive and invasive cardiac exams leveraging ultrasound. You will conduct transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography and stress testing.

The ideal candidate holds an associate degree in cardiovascular technology, is BLS certified, and credentialed RDCS or RCS. One year experience and experience with EPIC EHR/PACS are preferred; on-call hours are required.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in cardiovascular technology or related field (preferred).
• BLS certification required.
• RDCS or RCS credentialing required.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic echocardiography examinations using ultrasound testing equipment to evaluate the heart during Transthoracic Echocardiography, Transesophageal Echocardiography and Cardiac Stress testing.
• Demonstrates ability to proficiently perform non-invasive and invasive cardiac exams.
• Demonstrate knowledge of cardiac anatomy, exam procedures, and interpretation of results.
• Prepares and monitors patients before and during procedures.
• Utilizes the hospital electronic medical record to review patient information and document any critical findings.
• On call hours required.
