Job summary

Aultman Health Foundation is seeking an Echocardiogram Sonographer to obtain high-quality images for diagnostic support in inpatient and outpatient settings. The role requires strong cardiac ultrasound skills, independent work capability, and teamwork with cardiologists and other staff.

Responsibilities include performing TTE/TEE as needed, operating ultrasound equipment, and ensuring patient safety while communicating findings to the treating team.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited diagnostic medical sonography program.
• One full additional year of clinical experience in a cardiac lab desirable.
• Holds and maintains or is eligible to sit for current valid licensure related to cardiac ultrasound.
• RDCS (registered diagnostic cardiac technologist) by the ARDMS.
• CCI (registered cardiac sonographer) by Cardiovascular Credentialing International.
• Must have adequate knowledge of anatomy, physiology and disease processes.

Responsibilities

• Capable of working independently as well as cohesively as a team.
• Coordinates work schedule with Unit Director to assure workload coverage.
• Must travel to different locations for daily assignments.
• May work at multiple sites within one day.
• Performs clinical assessment and diagnostic cardiac laboratory examinations.
• Operates complex ultrasound equipment and selects appropriate settings and transducers.
• Notifies cardiologist in presence of critical or significant findings.
• Maintains patient safety and comfort throughout the exam.
