Job summary

Scoot Education is seeking an RBT-certified support professional in Carlsbad, CA to work 1:1 or with classrooms, assisting with scenarios ranging from toileting to challenging behaviors. You will help create a safe, nurturing learning environment and follow lead educators while supporting medically fragile students.

A background in education and required references are part of the role. Paid training, weekly pay via direct deposit, W-2 employment, background check reimbursements, 401(k)

Qualifications

• Valid RBT certification required.
• Experience in behavioral therapy with students with developmental disabilities.
• At least 1 year experience in a classroom/education setting.
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree, or 48+ college credits.
• Three references, including one from a direct supervisor.
• State and federal background checks (TB risk assessment or test).

Responsibilities

• Work closely with students 1:1 or across classrooms.
• Assist moderate to severe scenarios (toileting, 1:1 care, non-verbal, challenging/advanced behaviors).
• Foster a safe and nurturing learning environment.
• Follow directions from lead educators.
• Support medically fragile/high behavior situations.
• Observe and communicate across indoor/outdoor environments.
• Additional role requirements will be provided in the handbook during the interview.

Job description

Many of our consultants have previous teaching experience and will share best practices and offer practical advice. They are just a phone call away for any questions or concerns.

Daily Pay Range:

$30 - $33/hr

Pay will vary for day-to-day assignments and is typically more for long-term placements. Pay varies by certification, school, and assignment.

Role Requirements:

• Valid RBT Certification
• Experience in behavioral therapy and working with students with developmental disabilities
• At least 1 year experience working with children/adults with special needs; OR
• At least 1 year year in a classroom /education setting
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree, or 48+ college credits
• Three References with one by a previous direct supervisor
• State & federal background checks TB risk assessment or test

What You’ll Do:

• Work closely with students, either 1:1 or across entire classrooms
• Assist various moderate to severe scenarios such as Toileting; Personal 1:1 Care; Non-Verbal; Challenging or Aggressive Behaviors in the Classroom
• Foster a safe and nurturing learning environment
• Follow direction from, and assist lead educators
• Comfortable working with medically fragile/high behavior situations
• Sitting, standing, and walking, and able to lift up to 30 lbs while safely assisting students
• Observe and communicate across varied environments, incl. indoor and outdoor settings
