Job summary

Scoot Education is seeking an RBT-certified consultant to support students with developmental disabilities in a classroom setting in San Bernardino. You will work 1:1 or in groups, handling various needs and ensuring a safe learning environment.

Ideal candidates have 1 year of relevant experience or in an education setting, an associate or bachelor’s degree (or 48 credits), and are comfortable with physical tasks and background checks as part of the role.

Qualifications

• Requires valid RBT certification.
• Experience in behavioral therapy with students who have developmental disabilities.
• At least 1 year of work with children/adults with special needs or 1 year in an educational setting.

Responsibilities

• Work 1:1 with students or across classrooms.
• Assist with moderate to severe scenarios (toileting, 1:1 care, non-verbal, challenging/ aggressive behaviors).
• Foster a safe, nurturing learning environment.
• Support resource teachers with IEP delivery.
• Follow directions from lead educators.
• Be able to lift up to 30 lbs and assist students physically.

Daily Pay Range:

Up To $32.00

Pay will vary for day-to-day assignments and is typically more for long-term placements. Pay varies by certification, school, and assignment.

Role Requirements:

• Valid RBT Certification
• Experience in behavioral therapy and working with students with developmental disabilities
• At least 1 year experience working with children/adults with special needs; OR
• At least 1 year year in a classroom /education setting
• Associate or Bachelor's degree, or 48 college credits
• Three References with one by a previous direct supervisor
• State & federal background checks TB risk assessment or test

What You’ll Do:

• Work closely with students, either 1:1 or across entire classrooms
• Assist various moderate to severe scenarios such as Toileting; Personal 1:1 Care; Non-Verbal; Challenging or Aggressive Behaviors in the Classroom
• Foster a safe and nurturing learning environment
• Support resource teacher(s) in delivering IEP's (individual education plans)
• Follow direction from, and assist lead educators
• Comfortable working with medically fragile/high behavior situations
• Sitting, standing, and walking, and able to lift up to 30 lbs while safely assisting students
• Observe and communicate across varied environments, incl. indoor and outdoor settingsAdditional role requirements will be in the handbook and shared during the interview process
