Duval County Public Schools seeks a Behavioral Intervention Assistant to work with BCBA teams to deliver short-term, intensive behavior interventions for students in crisis. You will collect data, help staff create structured classrooms, model intervention techniques, and support staff with data-based decisions.
Collaborating with RBTs and district BCBAs, you will foster staff proficiency in applying behavioral strategies and data collection, while fading direct support as staff competencies
Works with Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA) to provide short-term, intensive behavior interventions for students in crisis. Works directly with students, data collection, helping school staff to engineer classrooms to provide structured behavior and visual supports, modeling behavioral interventions, and data for school staff, fading direct support as the skills of the staff increase. Works with classroom staff to increase their proficiency in the implementation of behavioral strategies and data collection based on interactions with the Registered Behavior Technician (RBT).
Associate’s degree OR sixty (60) semester hours from an accredited college or university; OR High School diploma or equivalent and a passing score on the Para Pro assessment.One (1) year experience working with students exhibiting challenging behaviors.
Certification as a Registered Behavior Technician through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (or equivalent). Certification in district approved crisis management system prior to employment or within the first sixty (60) days of employment.
