Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson is seeking a Water/Wastewater Regional Service Director to drive growth and profitability across the regional practice. You will oversee business development, lead staff, and ensure strategic execution of projects in the water/wastewater sector.

The role requires a civil engineering degree, a PE license, and 10+ years of leadership, project management, and client‑facing experience with public agencies. Travel regionally is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field from an accredited program.
• Professional Engineer license or equivalent.
• 10+ years of supervisory, project management, and business development experience.
• Experience leading others and working with local government clients.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate strategic growth plan with office leaders and market and service line leaders.
• Establish and grow market presence in area through marketing and business development.
• Manage financial budget for practice and allocate resources accordingly.
• Lead and contribute to the production of proposals.
• Serve as a technical expertise resource to project managers and technical staff.
• Establish resources staffing needs for the practice on a regional level.
• Interview and make recommendations for hiring staff for the practice.
• Lead and manage team members by providing leadership and continuous performance management (setting expectations, goals, feedback, 1:1 meeting, coaching) that supports the growth and development of team.
• Perform other related duties as assigned
