Job summary

AMH is seeking a Regional VP of Land Acquisition to lead and optimize the acquisition of land across Charlotte, Raleigh, Charleston and Columbus markets. You will drive strategic plans, evaluate markets, and coordinate with engineers, attorneys, and brokers to identify viable opportunities and structure agreements for development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or Real Estate highly preferred.
• Minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in real estate transactions that must include property valuation/appraisal, trustee sales, and escrow transactions.
• Minimum of five (5) years of supervisory experience managing direct reports. Valid driver’s license required. MBA preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of MLS and other real estate tools required.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Excellent verbal and written communication, leadership, problem-solving, planning, budgeting, and financial analysis skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee land acquisition in Charlotte, Raleigh, Charleston and Columbus Ohio markets.
• Create annual strategic acquisitions plan with geographic, product and pricing goals.
• Lead negotiations on purchase agreements and manage closing timelines.
• Develop market studies, feasibility packages, and investment proformas.
• Coordinate with engineers, attorneys, land planners, brokers and owners.
• Manage the acquisition escrow and entitlement process and track milestones.
