Job summary

AXA XL is seeking a Transversal Underwriting & Governance Lead for the Americas to develop and monitor governance frameworks, policies, and controls across underwriting. You will collaborate with underwriting, risk, compliance and audit teams to uphold governance standards and enable strategic oversight.

This role requires proactive governance oversight, quarterly reviews, KPI tracking, and data quality assessments, influencing senior leadership and driving continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience in governance, risk management, compliance, underwriting or underwriting operations within insurance or financial services.
• Understanding of underwriting governance frameworks and internal controls.
• Proven ability to lead governance reporting, KPIs, and quarterly governance cycles.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with ability to present governance information clearly.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and oversee regional governance frameworks, policies, and procedures aligned with global standards and regional requirements.
• Prepare governance reports, KPIs, and compliance metrics for senior management and governance committees.
• Coordinate quarterly governance reviews and track action items, risk assessments, and control improvements.
• Monitor KPIs related to underwriting quality, risk adherence, and data integrity; analyze trends and propose corrective actions.
• Collaborate with underwriting, risk, compliance, and audit to embed governance in daily operations.
• Assess underwriting authority adherence, exclusions, data quality, and documentation to support audits.
