Job summary

AXA XL is seeking an energetic Governance Lead for the Americas, focused on underwriting governance, reporting, and risk controls. You will develop regional governance frameworks, track KPIs, and collaborate across underwriting, risk, and audit teams to embed strong governance practices.

You will report to the Regional Lead Manager and contribute to governance training, dashboards, and continuous improvement initiatives across multiple locations in the Americas.

Qualifications

• Experience in governance, risk management, compliance or underwriting operations in insurance/financial services.
• Understanding of governance frameworks, regulatory standards, and internal control processes.
• Proven ability to lead governance reporting, KPIs, and governance cycles.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and oversee regional governance frameworks, policies, and procedures aligned with global standards and regional requirements.
• Prepare and review governance reports, KPIs, and compliance metrics for senior management and governance committees.
• Coordinate quarterly governance reviews and tracking of action items, risk assessments, and control improvements.
• Monitor underwriting quality, risk adherence, data integrity, and governance effectiveness; analyze trends for corrective actions.
• Collaborate with underwriting, risk, compliance, and audit teams to embed governance in daily operations and initiatives.
• Assess underwriting authority adherence, exclusions, data quality, and documentation for audits.
