Job summary

AXA XL is seeking a Transversal Underwriting and Governance Lead for the Americas to develop and monitor governance frameworks, KPIs, and controls across underwriting. You will collaborate with risk, compliance, audit, and underwriting teams to ensure adherence to global standards and regional directives.

Role requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication, and the ability to drive governance improvements. Travel may be required as part of regional governance initiatives.

Qualifications

• Experience in governance, risk management, compliance, underwriting or underwriting operations within insurance/financial services.
• Understanding of underwriting governance frameworks and regulatory standards.
• Proven ability to lead governance reporting, KPIs, and quarterly governance cycles.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for presenting governance information clearly.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and oversee regional governance frameworks aligned with global standards and regional requirements.
• Prepare governance reports, KPIs, and compliance metrics for senior management and committees.
• Coordinate quarterly governance asks, track risk assessments and control improvements.
• Establish and monitor KPIs for underwriting quality, risk adherence, data integrity, and governance effectiveness.
• Collaborate with underwriting, risk, compliance, and audit teams to embed governance in operations.
• Assess underwriting authority adherence, data quality, and documentation for audits.
• Support governance training and awareness initiatives across the region.
• Design and facilitate governance meetings, workshops, and reporting dashboards.
• Coordinate underwriting requests from AXA Group, Business Partners, and the Global Chief Underwriting Office.
