Job summary

Gateway-Services-Inc is seeking a Regional Maintenance Technician (Operations) to inspect, maintain, and repair crematory equipment and facility systems across multiple locations. This remote, road-heavy role requires up to 80% travel and hands-on problem solving to keep operations safe and reliable.

You will diagnose issues, perform preventative maintenance, and train on-site staff, while supporting general facility maintenance and equipment performance improvements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or trade/technical certification.
• Minimum 2 years of maintenance experience (HVAC, controls, PLCs, refractory).
• Hands on boiler experience.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel up to 80%.
• Experience reading electrical schematics and using diagnostic tools (preferred).
• Working knowledge of general building maintenance and repairs.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, and troubleshoot crematory machinery and building systems.
• Diagnose issues and perform preventative maintenance and repairs.
• Repair or replace worn components before breakdowns occur.
• Use diagnostic tools, power tools, and hand tools to complete repairs.
• Interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and blueprints to plan work.
• Maintain accurate service reports and documentation.
• Order parts and supplies as needed.
• Provide recommendations to improve equipment performance and reliability.
• Train on-site staff on basic maintenance and efficient machine operation.
• Support general facility maintenance including electrical, HVAC, and basic carpentry.
